Abstract: INTRODUCTION: Gynoid lipodystrophy is one of the most esthetic problems that affects women from the point of view of self-esteem, characterized by a subcutaneous tissue alteration, more specifically of the interstitium, with a non-pathological physiological impairment, reflecting an apparent alteration of the skin. Gynoid lipodystrophy is characterized by different types and degrees that undergo a process of evolution, compromise and appearance, being today one of the major reasons for searching for esthetic surgical treatments or not among women of different age groups. Among the many possibilities of non-invasive aesthetic treatments, the use of the Elastic Bandage Adhesive developed by Kenzo Kase in Japan in the 70's arises and among his proposals suggests a placement for Lymphatic Drainage, one of the established techniques for the treatment of Lipodystrophy.. OBJECTIVES: To analyze the deformation under instantaneous constant load; Measure deformation over time and also under constant load; Evaluate the tension under fixed deformation; To verify the effects of the use of Elastic Adhesive Bandage as a method of treatment of Gynoid Lipodystrophy.METHODOLOGY: This is the combination of two studies being an experimental study conducted by three different tests verifying the instantaneous deformation with measurement soon after application of the load; deformation over time with constant load; constant strain over time and an experimental study of the non-randomized clinical trial type, with a sample of 24 women aged 26 to 44 years, of phototypes I to VI (skin color), who present grade 2 cellulitis or 3. Adhesive Elastic Bandages were placed in only one of the affected regions, with a four-legged cut, changed to bandages every 3 days, by a new placement, for a period of six weeks, that is, twelve applications continuous. The assessment was performed by counting and depth of depressions in the area and perimetry of the region.RESULTS: The result of the first test showed that the pre-tension imposed, because it is glued to paper, does not correspond to 10% as described in the literature. It can also be observed that initially there is an elastic deformation and then with an increase of the load, it starts to act in an almost rigid zone. The constant load strain over time showed greater deformation in the first thirty minutes and then maintained with variation tending to zero. Finally, in the test of constant deformation over time, it shows that the bandages maintain their elasticity for a long time, not having the need to be changed frequently. It was found in the second trial that there was a reduction in the number and depth of depressions in both the gluteal region and the posterior thigh region.CONCLUSION: The mechanical properties of the bandages are different depending on the type and model and may alter the clinical results, since they are based on the tensions. The Elastic Adhesive Bandage visually reduces the appearance of cellulite, minimizing the appearance of wrinkling of the areas affected by Gynoid Lipodystrophy, however the mechanism by which this happens is not clear, being necessary to evolve with the research.
