Abstract: Quality of life, through its concept, constructs and relations with different aspects of life, contributes to scientific studies and allows the measurement of the life conditions of individuals in and outside work environment. Stress, as part of the daily life of the modern world, experiences a close relationship with the quality of life. Thus, this study aimed to analyze the perception about the quality of life and stress of managers of a public higher education institution in Rio Grande do Sul. In order to reach the proposal, three data collection instruments were used: a semi-structured socio-demographic data questionnaire elaborated by the author, the WHOQOL-Bref instrument to evaluate the quality of life and the Lipp Adult Stress Symptom Inventory, ISSL, to evaluate the level of stress. This was a cross-sectional, quantitative study with the participation of 214 managers, among the 380 Holders of Management Position (CD), Gratified Function 1 (FG1) and Coordination Function (FUC) of the Institution studied with management activities in two campuses (here called A and B), which compose the HEI investigated, held from June to October 2017. The methodology followed the ethical precepts and included statistical and descriptive analysis, with data tabulation using SPSS 21, Kolgomorov-Smirnov normality test, Student's t-test and ANOVA test with Bonferroni post hoc test. The multivariate analysis was performed using a Multiple Linear Regression model. The results showed that the domains of quality of life on the studied managers are at a level considered good. The variables that revealed to be factors of protection of the quality of life of the studied managers were income and satisfaction as manager. Satisfaction as a manager demonstrated protection in all domains and also in the self-assessment of quality of life and general quality of life. Meanwhile income demonstrated to be a protective factor in the psychological and environmental domains, as well as in the self-assessment of quality of life and general quality of life. The variables presence of stress and being in health monitoring were shown to be risk factors for quality of life. The presence of stress evidenced risk in all domains, as well as in the self-assessment of quality of life and general quality of life. Being in health monitoring revealed a risk in the self-assessment of the quality of the individuals studied. However, in view of the presence of stress in 36.4% of the participants, it is important to have institutional reinforcement in order to support their management and health. From this study, a blog about quality of life and 9 management was developed as a social product.
